CNS News– In a surprising turn of events, conservative pundit Bill O’Reilly, a former Fox News host, expressed outrage after two of his books were temporarily removed from the Escambia County School District in Florida. This action was in line with the enforcement of Florida’s HB 1069 bill, a law aimed at restricting sexual content in school curricula, enacted in July under Governor Ron DeSantis.
O’Reilly’s books, “Killing Jesus: A History” and “Killing Reagan: The Violent Assault That Changed a Presidency,” were among approximately 1,600 titles pulled from school libraries. While not permanently banned, these books are under review to ensure they comply with the new legislation.
This list of removed books also includes significant works such as “The Autobiography of Malcolm X” and “Anne Frank’s Diary of a Young Girl.” O’Reilly, known for his conservative views and support of the book ban laws, found himself in a position of contradiction.
In a statement to Newsweek, he called the removal of his books “absurd” and “preposterous,” vowing to confront the decision-makers. His reaction highlights the broader concerns over the law’s overreach and its impact on educational resources.
