Authorities claimed that early on Wednesday morning, masked gunmen in Seattle opened fire on an apartment building, injuring a mother and just missing her kid while they slept.

As per the Seattle Police Department, the incident took place in the 9400 block of 27th Avenue Southwest in West Seattle at approximately 2:40 a.m.

FOX13 Seattle was able to collect surveillance footage of three armed individuals in black hoodies firing randomly into a grassy courtyard, hitting an apartment building and breaking windows.

When the gunshots penetrated their bedroom wall, the mother and her infant were asleep in the same bed, according to the responding policemen.

The toddler was uninjured, but the mother sustained two gunshot wounds to the legs.

A neighbour reported to FOX13 that he heard dozens of bullets fired while he was asleep.

“I kind of waited for the sirens to come and fell back asleep,” the neighbour, who wished to remain unnamed, said. “I just thought I was dreaming in the moment.” “I’m not sure what happened, but I feel sorry because this neighbourhood is really safe. I hope she’s doing alright.

At the scene, investigators discovered numerous wasted bullets and hundreds of shell casings.

The station said that it saw detectives hauling bags of spent shot casings out of the courtyard.

The three suspects’ personal information was not immediately made public.

Police stated they are looking into the circumstances before the incident.
