WLS: OAK LAWN, Ill. Police in Chicago say that an off-duty cop died in a crash in the south suburbs on Sunday morning.
Oak Lawn police said the accident happened on 95th Street near the entrance ramp to Harlem Avenue.
Police said that only one car was involved in the accident. The driver, a guy aged 35, was taken to Christ Hospital but died there.
The driver was later named Edwin Espinoza by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. The job he had was probationary cop.
The crash is being looked into by the Oak Lawn Police Traffic Unit.
