A device that was brought to a high school in Tennessee turns off cell phones and other electronics

WSMV reports that Nashville, Tennessee is now home to An item that might be on your child’s Christmas list has been warned about by WSMV4 Investigates. At least one school in Tennessee has already had trouble with it. It’s called a Flipper Zero.

They looked into what they are and how some kids are using them to get into trouble on WSMV4.

Lyn Moudy likes that he can call his son at Lebanon High School if he needs to.

Moudy said, “It’s very important.” “There have been times when a gun was brought to school.”

So, his son and a lot of other students bring cell phones. But recently, a student brought something to school that can mess up that link.

Moudy said, “It scares me to think that a kid could have something like that.”

The name for it is a Flipper Zero. Wilson County Schools said that last month, a student brought one to Lebanon High and used it to turn off some cell phones in the classroom.

Kyle Greenup from Kraft Technology Group said, “It’s a little thing that does a lot.” “That thing has many tools on it.”

Greenup, a tech expert from Nashville, said that Flipper Zeros can connect to anything that has a wireless signal.

Greenup said, “You can read your pet’s microchip or your tyre pressure monitoring system with this.”

Not only that. Greenup said that Flipper Zeros became famous on TikTok not long ago for doing jokes like turning off fast food displays. Since it can be used to steal credit cards, Amazon blocked the item in April.

Greenup said, “If you see your kid with one of these or find it on their Christmas list, it comes down to how much you trust them.” “It’s not the device itself.” What are they going to do with it?”

Greenup said that the device has its limits and can only mess up gadgets that are about 50 yards away. Williamson County Schools said the kid was punished and that their network was never broken into.
