Gas Prices in Georgia Spike for The First Time Around Christmas!

0

Georgia experienced a notable increase in gas prices over the Christmas holiday, adding a financial strain to the festive season. According to AAA, the average price for unleaded gasoline in the state rose to about $3.01 per gallon.

This marked a 5-cent increase from the previous week and a significant 22-cent rise from the month before. Contributing factors to this price hike include rising crude oil prices and recent geopolitical tensions, particularly in the Red Sea region.

Additionally, the end of Governor Brian Kemp’s gas tax suspension played a role in the increased costs at the pump.  With the average cost to fill a 15-gallon tank reaching over $45, Georgians found themselves paying almost $5 more than the previous year.
