Authorities arrived at the scene following a call from a third party reporting the incident at approximately 4:30 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies found the 6-year-old victim and her mother across the street at a neighbor’s residence, both in need of medical attention for their burns. They were promptly transported to a nearby hospital where they are currently reported to be in stable condition.
According to investigators, the 17-year-old suspect, who resided at the location of the incident, deliberately pushed the young girl into the fire, resulting in her injuries.
