Man Body discovered in Jacksonville Pond, Investigation still going on
A body was found floating in a pond near Grand Park on Tuesday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Around 9:30, someone saw the body in the 3300 block of Nancy Street and called the police. It’s right next to the Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.
According to JSO, the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department came and found the body in the water. They were then able to bring it back to land.
The body that was found belonged to an adult man, but JSO doesn’t know how old the man was yet.
JSO said the man didn’t seem to have any scars that would have shown how he died.
They will bring the JSO Dive Team to fully remove the body from the pond, and the Medical Examiner’s Office will also look into how the guy died.
If you know anything about this crime, please call the JSO at 904-630-0500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
