The bill, a culmination of a decade-long effort, mandates a series of changes in licensing, alcohol delivery, and enforcement of alcohol laws. One of the immediate effects will be felt in taprooms at breweries and distilleries, which can now operate until 9 p.m., an extension from the current 8 p.m. closure.
These establishments will also be permitted to host a limited number of live events annually, a departure from the existing prohibition of such activities. However, certain restrictions like no TVs, bar seating limitations, and serving size caps remain.
Another significant aspect of the bill is the ability of business owners to hold multiple, overlapping licenses, thereby blurring the lines between different types of alcohol-related businesses. This flexibility allows breweries to host restaurants with fewer restrictions and sell products from other brewers.
