Second Accomplice Surrenders in Aiken Walmart Shooting Incident!

In a significant development concerning the shooting incident at the Walmart Supercenter on Whiskey Road in Aiken, South Carolina, a second suspect, Jakeem Avonta Gregory, has been apprehended. This follows the earlier arrest of Brandon Perry Buckmon in connection with the same case. On November 26, the Walmart Supercenter in Aiken became the site of a harrowing crime.

Jakeem Avonta Gregory, 21, of Williston, South Carolina, and other unidentified suspects were involved in an armed robbery. During the incident, Gregory allegedly shot a victim in the shoulder while they were seated in their car, after refusing to surrender money.

This violent act occurred amidst a crowded parking lot, posing a threat to numerous bystanders. Jakeem Avonta Gregory subsequently turned himself in on November 26. He is currently being held at the Aiken County Detention Center.

Gregory faces multiple charges, including armed robbery, discharging a firearm into a vehicle, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. His unlawful possession of the firearm used in the crime was a critical element in the charges against him.

In a related development, Brandon Perry Buckmon, 22, of Barnwell, South Carolina, was arrested in Williston on November 29 for unrelated charges. However, he was also charged in connection with the Walmart shooting.

His charges include armed robbery, assault, and battery of a high and aggravated nature, unlawfully carrying a pistol, discharging a firearm into a vehicle, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. As of the latest update, Buckmon was being held at the Orangeburg County Detention Center and was expected to be transported to Aiken.
