CNS NewsLul Top, a 36-year-old mother from Texas, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly subjecting her five children to horrific abuse, including attempted violence with knives and placing a 3-year-old child into a hot oven. According to reports, Top’s children, aged 3, 6, 9, and 10, disclosed to Child Protection Services that their mother routinely subjected them to torture in search of alcohol.

The children bore scars resembling knife cuts, indicating physical abuse inflicted by Top. One of the children, a 10-year-old, recounted a chilling incident where Top attempted to place their 3-year-old sibling into a hot oven, prompting the older child to intervene and protect their sibling. Another child, aged 4, corroborated the account, detailing witnessing the attempted violence against their sibling.

In addition to physical abuse, the children reported instances of psychological trauma, including threats of violence and intimidation from Top. One child disclosed that Top threatened to kill them with a cleaver, leading the children to hide knives to protect themselves from their mother’s aggression.

Top’s arrest followed a SWAT standoff at her home, during which she barricaded herself in the attic before eventually surrendering to authorities. Neighbors expressed shock and concern over the allegations of abuse, noting previous instances of police presence at Top’s residence.

The arrest of Top underscores the severity of child abuse and the importance of vigilance in safeguarding vulnerable individuals from harm. The case highlights the critical role of Child Protection Services and law enforcement agencies in intervening to protect children from abusive situations.

Top currently faces six counts of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held in the Collin County Jail on a $600,000 bond. The charges against her signify the gravity of the allegations and the necessity of holding perpetrators of child abuse accountable for their actions.
