Trump Says That Haley Will Be on His Team Since She Said She Would Vote for Him

WASHINGTON – There was talk on the campaign trail that former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley could join Trump’s team if she promised to vote for him in November.

Trump told News 12 on Long Island, “I liked what she said,” after his gathering in the Bronx on Thursday.

Trump said, “Well, I think she’s going to be on our team because we have a lot of the same ideas, the same thoughts.” She was asked if she would be on his team or his ticket.

Since Haley only gave Trump a mild endorsement, it is unclear how aggressively she will work to help him win another term. As of right now, Haley has not said in public that she wants to work with the Trump team. A story on May 11 said that Haley might be on Trump’s list of candidates for vice president. That same day, Trump said on Truth Social, “Nikki Haley is not under consideration for the V.P. slot, but I wish her well!”

The former ambassador to the UN said she would vote for Trump because she thinks President Joe Biden has done a bad job with foreign policy.

He said, “Trump hasn’t been perfect on these policies, but Biden has been a disaster.” Haley said this while talking about foreign policy at the Hudson Institute, a conservative think tank where she works. “So I’m going to vote for Trump.”

In the message she gave before she stopped running for office on March 6, Haley said, “It is now up to Donald Trump to earn the votes of those in our party who did not support him, and I hope he does.”

People paid attention to Haley because she was able to get votes from a wide range of parties, including independents and moderate Republicans. The Biden team says it is trying to reach out to her supporters because they don’t like Trump as the Republican nominee. Even though Haley dropped out of the race, she is still getting votes.
