Wanted Man in Wisconsin Was Caught Trying to Escape at an Airport and Was Later Arrested After a Chase
WAUSAU, WIS.– A wanted 34-year-old man from Wisconsin was caught early Monday morning at an airport, where he may have been trying to leave the state.
According to the Madison Police Department, officers went to the Dane County Regional Airport after hearing that police wanted suspect Jeffrey Clement might be trying to leave the state.
When Madison police came and started searching the airport, Clement got into his car and drove off. A deputy from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office found the car not far away and tried to pull the driver over, but the driver reportedly sped off.
After that, Clement crashed the car and ran into a nearby house that wasn’t his. It was said that no one was in the house at the time.
Police officers, including a K9, circled the house and tried to get Clement to leave on his own, but he wouldn’t. When police finally got inside, they found Clement hiding under a pile of clothes. He was taken into prison without any more trouble.
Clement was taken to the Dane County jail on several charges.
