CNS NewsAuthorities in New Jersey have arrested a 13-year-old boy in connection with a string of car thefts and burglaries spanning just over two weeks. The teen, residing in Jersey City, was apprehended around 8:30 p.m. on Monday following reports of a stolen Hyundai from the area of Islandview Court.

Responding to the scene, officers discovered broken window glass and another Hyundai with its engine running and signs of tampering. The stolen vehicle was spotted nearby, prompting a pursuit during which the suspect attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended in a backyard.

Following an investigation, police linked the teenager to a total of 14 reported vehicle thefts since February 16. The stolen cars, all either Hyundai or Kia models, exhibited similar patterns of broken windows and tampered steering wheels. The suspect now faces a staggering 41 charges, including motor vehicle theft, burglary, criminal mischief, receiving stolen property, and resisting arrest.
