CNS NewsIn a tragic incident in Queens, New York, police fatally shot a knife-wielding man who had stabbed his wife at a family party. The altercation occurred on the second floor of a building on 62nd Street in Forest Hills, where a 46-year-old man stabbed his partner multiple times in front of horrified partygoers, including children, around 6:50 p.m.

Responding to the scene, four officers, including a sergeant, encountered the suspect in the second-floor hallway wielding a 12-inch knife. Despite commands to drop the weapon, the man refused and charged at the officers. In response, the sergeant deployed his Taser while two officers fired their guns, striking the suspect multiple times.

Emergency services rendered aid to the suspect before transporting him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim, identified as the suspect’s wife, sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive. The couple, who reportedly have children, added to the distressing nature of the incident, which unfolded in a neighborhood unaccustomed to such violence.

The suspect, originally from Uzbekistan, had initiated the violent altercation, prompting the police response.
