16 Injured on United Airlines Los Angeles-Newark Flight Due to ‘Severe Turbulence’!

United Airlines flight UA1890, a Boeing 777-200 aircraft, departed from LAX at approximately 8:45 am on Saturday. However, during its descent into Newark, the flight encountered severe turbulence, causing distress among passengers and crew.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported that thirteen passengers and three flight attendants were injured as the aircraft navigated rough air in the New York area. Upon landing at Newark, medical personnel met the flight, and three flight attendants along with two passengers were transported to the University Hospital for treatment.

United Airlines expressed gratitude to the crew for their efforts in ensuring the safety of passengers. The incident underscores the importance of passengers adhering to safety protocols, including remaining seated with seatbelts fastened, even when seat belt signs are not illuminated. Experts warn of a global increase in turbulence events, with particular concern surrounding ‘clear air turbulence,’ which is challenging to detect.
