Brooklyn Woman Faces Charges: Accused of Deliberately Striking Boyfriend’s Ex with Vehicle!
CNS News– A Brooklyn woman faces charges of murder following a tragic incident in which she allegedly used her car as a weapon, fatally striking her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend. The incident, captured on video surveillance, unfolded outside the Louis Pink Houses in East New York on January 11th, around 7:30 p.m.
According to court documents, 33-year-old Naomi Broomes parked her 2006 Mercury sedan in a parking lot outside 1210 Loring Ave. An altercation ensued between Broomes and the victim, 24-year-old Shakira Serrano, who was romantically involved with Broomes’ boyfriend.
The video footage depicts Serrano confronting Broomes, who was seated in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, leading to a heated argument. Broomes’ boyfriend intervenes in an attempt to separate the two women, but the altercation escalates, with Serrano striking and kicking the car. Prosecutors allege that Broomes made two attempts to strike Serrano with her car, missing both times.
Subsequently, as Serrano was engaged in a physical struggle with Broomes’ boyfriend, Broomes allegedly accelerated her vehicle, running over Serrano’s body before fleeing the scene. Tragically, Serrano succumbed to her injuries, pronounced dead upon arrival at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center.

She appeared in court for arraignment and was ordered held without bail. If convicted, Broomes could face a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison. The community mourns the loss of Shakira Serrano, while the legal process unfolds to bring justice for her tragic and untimely death.
