CNS News– According to a funeral company that handled the arrangements, the bereaved parents of a three-month-old baby boy who had been mauled to death by their pet pit bull buried their young son on Friday, March 15th at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. According to authorities, the baby, named Daymon Jair Balbuena in an online obituary, is the child of Avenel parents Henry and Sierra (Kelley) Balbuena, who passed away on March 9.
At six in the morning, a dog attacked the Balbuena family’s home on Mereline Avenue. After attempting to save Daymon from the dog, the mother of the child suffered severe injuries and had to spend some time in the hospital. To preserve the privacy of the child’s parents, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and Woodbridge police have disclosed neither the child’s name nor their identity.
Additionally, TAPinto has kept the identity of the baby’s bereaved family and name a secret up to this point. Daymon Jair Balbuena, the infant, is now included in the obituary of Flynn & Son Funeral Home.

In the wake of this tragedy, a family friend named Kayla Gil has also set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for the family. The website for crowdsourcing has received almost $18,400 in donations so far, ranging from $10 to the maximum of $1,000 per person.
