A Missing Student from New Jersey Was Found Dead in The Newark Bay!
CNS News– An 18-year-old Filipino American student, Hayley Alvarado, who had been missing since before Christmas, was found dead in Newark Bay in Bayonne, New Jersey. The Hudson County Sheriff’s Department recovered her body after receiving a report of an unidentified woman seen in the water.
Security footage showed Hayley walking with her backpack the night she disappeared on December 17. Her parents reported she left home past midnight and never returned. “We live on in the memories of those we leave behind, so let us honor Lee’s memory by keeping her alive in our hearts and minds,” said her brother, Harley.
The coroner has not yet determined the cause of death. Hayley was born on October 9, 2005, in Tacloban City, Philippines. A memorial was scheduled for March 18 from 5-9 p.m. at the Greenville Memorial Home in Jersey City. Burial was set for March 19 at 1:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, also in Jersey City, with her cremated remains to be sent to Tacloban.

Hayley’s father, Stephen Alvarado, expressed his grief, stating, “After nearly three agonizing months of searching, my daughter Hayley has been found deceased in Bayonne. My wife, Portia, and my sons, Harley and Hanson, and I were overwhelmed with grief upon seeing those items, confirming our worst fears. The police are asking us to wait for the results of the autopsy and DNA test.”
