On Sunday, a lady was killed after she was struck by a vehicle while climbing the sand dunes that are located within a park in the state of Michigan.

According to WOOD-TV, the collision took place at approximately 11:40 a.m. in the “drag strip” region of Silver Lake State Park Sand Dunes in Golden Township.

WOOD-TV reported that the mother and her family were witnessing the races from the exterior of their vehicle while they were standing there.

A Jeep CJ that was competing in a race lost control and collided with the vehicle that belonged to the family. However, the lady was struck by the vehicle herself, despite the fact that she was able to pull her daughter, who was two years old, out of harm’s way.

Unfortunately, she did not survive her injuries, despite the efforts of witnesses and first responders who attempted to save her. It was reported by WOOD-TV that the woman was identified as Kadie L. Price, who is 33 years old and hails from Pierson.

It was stated by the deputies that Price most likely prevented her daughter from suffering “serious injury or worse.”

In addition to being located on the shores of Lake Michigan, Silver Lake State Park is home to the sole option to ride sand dunes that is located east of the Mississippi River.
