CNS NewsAn online fundraiser for former President Donald Trump has surged, accumulating $84,354 within a mere 24 hours, although aiming for a substantial $355 million target. This swift fundraising activity follows the final judgment in Trump’s civil fraud trial in New York.

On Friday, New York Judge Arthur Engoron imposed a hefty fine of approximately $355 million on Trump, concluding a monthslong trial initiated by New York Attorney General Letitia James in September 2022. The lawsuit accused Trump, his two adult sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, The Trump Organization, and two firm executives, Allen Weisselberg and Jeff McConney, of fraudulent overvaluation of assets to secure more favorable bank loans and tax deals.

In addition to the financial penalties, Trump was prohibited from conducting business in New York for three years, along with similar restrictions imposed on other defendants in the case. Trump, who currently stands as the GOP frontrunner in the 2024 presidential election, vehemently denies any wrongdoing, labeling the case as politically motivated.

Elena Cardone, the wife of real estate businessman Grant Cardone, spearheaded a GoFundMe campaign titled, “Stand with Trump; Fund the $355M Unjust Judgment” in response to Engoron’s ruling. In just 24 hours, the GoFundMe page garnered significant traction, amassing $84,354 from 2,170 donations.

The highest contribution, an anonymous donation, amounted to $2,500, while several others contributed sums ranging from $5 to $200. Efforts to gather comments from Trump’s campaign and Cardone via email and GoFundMe, respectively, are currently underway, as confirmed by Newsweek’s outreach.
