People got on the roads early to avoid the last-minute rush of people leaving for Thanksgiving. (The picture above was taken by Elizabeth Pe.) From noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, northbound Interstate 15 was very crowded near Stateline Primm Nevada.

Then in the Cajon Pass, there were no big problems. From Stateline to the end of the Cajon Pass, traffic was said to be about two hours behind schedule. Sunday, the time will be at least three to five hours late because of crashes.

If you want to avoid holiday traffic, get out of the way early—before 9 a.m. from Stateline or 8 a.m. in Las Vegas. Around noon, people will be able to use the Cajon Pass. This is likely to be the third busiest Thanksgiving travel season since AAA started keeping track in 2000.
