Fathy Hussein was caught Wednesday for robbery after the anonymous tip led police to his social media accounts. A source who saw a suspect’s unique underwear helped police in New York City catch one of the three people they think robbed an armed smoke shop more than a year ago.

The three guys got out of a Mazda 3 and into the Queens store wearing Halloween masks, as seen on surveillance video from September 14, 2022. There were guns on two of them. The three stole $3,000 in cash from the registers, $1,000 worth of CBD and marijuana goods, and then ran to an idling Mazda and left the area.

They also took the phones of the four people who were inside the shop at the time of the break-in. The NYPD says that the camera got one of the suspects, 30-year-old Fathy Hussein, with his pants down. The video makes it clear that the man has his own unique, multicolored underwear with the letters “R” and “1990” written in yellow on them.

There were cameras in the store and on his way out that got the suspect with the revealing ID. Police were able to find Hussein’s social media accounts thanks to the anonymous tip. He was caught on Wednesday for robbery. The caller also said that the three tried to use a third party to sell the stolen goods.

According to reliable sources, Hussein was on probation at the time of the armed heist. The suspect was named by police using his Instagram account and video from the place where the three men tried to sell the stolen goods.
