Local Texas Business Honors Korean War Veteran with New A/C!
In a heartwarming display of gratitude and community spirit, Southeast Texas has come together to honor a local hero, Korean War veteran Devaine Barnill. Serving both in the Navy and Army, Barnill’s dedication to his country is now being celebrated by American Air Systems, Inc., a local business that presented him with a new air conditioning unit.
This gesture took place during the annual AmerAirCares giveaway event, held on December 2, 2023, at the Beaumont Municipal Airport. American Air Systems, in collaboration with their HVAC distributor, Carrier Enterprise, and Carrier Manufacturing, made this commendable act possible.
The AmerAirCares event aims to provide heating and cooling systems to deserving homeowners in Chambers, Jefferson, Hardin, or Orange Counties, highlighting a community-driven approach to honoring and supporting local veterans.
Lee and Terri Potter, the owners of American Air Systems, expressed their pride in being able to honor Barnill for his service. They emphasized the importance of recognizing the immense sacrifices made by veterans and expressed gratitude to their committee of volunteers who helped make the event a success.
This initiative not only showcases the deep respect for veterans in the Southeast Texas community but also serves as a reminder of the ongoing need to support and acknowledge those who have served our country. The donation of a new A/C unit to Barnill is a small but significant token of appreciation, a symbol of the enduring gratitude felt by the community for the service and sacrifice of its veterans.
