The specific amount disbursed to each household is determined by various factors, including household size, income thresholds, and additional assets.

An additional $219 is provided for each member beyond eight.

SNAP Benefit Distribution Schedule

The distribution of SNAP benefits will commence on the 1st day of the month and extend through the 10th.

The disbursement schedule is contingent upon recipients’ case numbers, with payments allocated accordingly to qualified low-income households.

For instance, California beneficiaries with case numbers ending in 1 will receive their CalFresh benefits on Friday, March 1, with disbursements continuing until March 10, when those with case numbers ending in 0 will receive their payments.

SNAP benefits are loaded onto an electronic benefits transfer (EBT) card every month. Recipients can utilize the card at authorized grocery stores to purchase eligible food items such as fruits, vegetables, bread, meat, poultry, and beverages.

However, the use of SNAP benefits is prohibited for items such as pet food, alcoholic beverages, and household goods like paper products and toiletries.

For those interested in applying for SNAP benefits, seeking further guidance on the application process, or monitoring CalFresh benefits, residents of California can access the official government portal provided by the California Department of Social Services.
