New Georgia Passenger Rail Corridors Receive Federal Grants from Senators Ossoff and Warnock!

0

Senators Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock have announced that three federal grants totaling $500,000 will be given to Georgia to look into the possibility of building new passenger train corridors. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law pays for the funds.

The planned train lines will link Atlanta to larger cities in Tennessee, such as Savannah, Charlotte, Chattanooga, and more. The goal is to give Georgians more public transportation choices and make it easier for them to get around.

Sen. Smith thinks that these new transportation choices will help the state’s economy. Also, they see this as a long-term project that needs everyone in the government to work together and do a good job with it.

New Georgia Passenger Rail Corridors Receive Federal Grants from Senators Ossoff and Warnock!

Senator Warnock has fought for rail access and safety in Georgia in the past, and Senator Ossoff has worked to expand passenger rail in Georgia and the Southeast, which has helped the economy grow and made it easier to get around and meet with others.

The grants will pay for the second part of the rail project between Atlanta and Savannah, a new high-speed train line between Charlotte and Atlanta, and a new service that links Atlanta to Chattanooga, Nashville, and Memphis.
