CNS News– In a disturbing incident in New York City, a 2-year-old boy was shot while standing with his mother on a street in the Fordham Heights neighborhood of The Bronx. The toddler, who turned 3 the following day, sustained a gunshot wound to his derriere. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, causing panic in the area.
One witness described seeing “three delinquents running and then heard shots” around 1:45 p.m. Another witness recounted seeing the child on the ground after the shooting. The injured child was rushed to a hospital and is currently listed in stable condition. Thankfully, it is expected that he will survive his injuries.
The incident is part of a broader trend of violence in the city, with another fatal shooting occurring just blocks away later the same day. In that incident, one man was killed and another injured in a separate shooting incident. New York Mayor Eric Adams, a former police officer, has expressed his commitment to addressing the issue of illegal guns on the streets.
