CheapNailsalonsnearmeA notable event featuring Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, initially planned as a book-signing gathering in central Florida, has been canceled by the hosting venue. The Westgate Resorts in Kissimmee withdrew its support upon discovering the event’s alignment with the third anniversary of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Initially proposed to Westgate as a modest book-signing affair, the event’s true nature came to light only later, prompting swift action from the resort. “Westgate was not informed about the event’s actual purpose when approached for hosting a book signing,” stated Westgate Resorts in a public announcement. “Hence, we have decided to cancel this event, which will no longer take place at our resort.”

The event, sponsored by the Republican Party of Osceola County, was advertised to local Republicans as an “Exclusive event with Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene”. An invitation for the event listed the “3rd Anniversary of Jan 6” as the occasion, with attendance costs ranging from $45 to $1,000, including a signed copy of Greene’s book.

Rep. Greene, when approached by NBC News for comments on the cancellation during an event in Iowa for former President Donald Trump’s campaign, dismissed the query.”I don’t see the relevance of your question. We’re here to discuss President Trump and the Iowa event,” she responded, labeling the question as inappropriate.

This incident underscores the ongoing sensitivity and divisiveness surrounding the Jan. 6 Capitol attack.
