CNS NewsIn a shocking incident in Palatka, Florida, a mother allegedly attempted to sell her 18-month-old toddler for $500 outside an H&R Block establishment, only to find no takers and subsequently abandoned the child. Jessica Woods, aged 33, was observed lingering outside the H&R Block location in Palatka, accompanied by her young daughter.

A concerned employee recognized Woods, who had previously used the bank’s restroom facilities to attend to her child. Witnesses reported disturbing behavior, including physical aggression towards the child, with Woods allegedly hitting and spanking her daughter inside the bank restroom.

On the following morning, March 5, Woods was discovered asleep on an external air conditioning unit, while her daughter was left unattended in a nearby shopping cart, lacking proper blankets or care. When approached by a concerned bank employee offering assistance, Woods demanded money.

Later that day, Woods returned to the bank and placed her child on the ground, prompting the toddler to crawl toward traffic. When the employee intervened and declined Woods’ offer to purchase the child for $500, Woods abandoned her daughter and departed.

The child was taken into protective custody by authorities, with the Department of Children and Families assuming responsibility for her care. Jessica Woods was subsequently located and arrested on March 7, facing six felony charges including child abuse, child neglect, and abandonment of a child.
