A white man from New Jersey named Edward C. Mathews was given eight years in jail for using racial slurs and bothering his black neighbors, which was caught on video in 2021. Matthews admitted to four counts of bias harassment and having a controlled dangerous substance with the purpose of distributing it.
Before he can get out on release, he has to serve at least four years. The claims come from a time when Mathews was seen calling his neighbor’s racial slurs. He was also charged with spying, damaging his neighbors’ cars, and putting poop on their windows.
Police searched Mathews’ house and found a lot of psilocin mushrooms, which are hallucinogens. Mathews has been in jail since he was arrested. He will get credit for the time he’s already spent in jail, and in about 16 months, he will be able to get out on release. He said sorry for how he behaved during his sentence.
