CNS News– Authorities in Brooklyn have apprehended four individuals in connection with the tragic killing of a local laundromat owner last year. Ronnie Butler, aged 46, Shaleek Riddick, aged 19, Louis Mercado, aged 48, and Diante Stinson, aged 20, were taken into custody and subsequently charged with murder, robbery, conspiracy, and criminal possession of a weapon, as confirmed by the New York City Police Department (NYPD).
Additionally, Mercado faces an additional charge of endangering the welfare of a child. The incident occurred on December 1, 2023, when Money Perkins, aged 37, was fatally shot inside his establishment located on Clarendon Street. The suspects allegedly perpetrated a violent robbery, during which Perkins was fatally wounded.
Surveillance footage revealed that all four men brandished firearms during the encounter, with Perkins attempting to disarm one of them before being shot. The perpetrators absconded with Perkins’ gold chain, adding to the tragedy of the situation.
Despite residing in Queens, it remains uncertain whether the accused individuals had any prior acquaintance with the victim or if the attack was a random act of violence. Family members, including Perkins’ sister, expressed profound grief and disbelief at the senseless loss, with the victim leaving behind a wife and three children, aged 2, 8, and 17.
