CNS News– New York City Police Department authorities have intensified efforts to bring justice following a stabbing incident near a Times Square migrant shelter. On Sunday, a new photo of one of the suspects involved in the massive brawl leading to the stabbing was released by the NYPD.
The altercation, which unfolded around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday near West 42nd Street and 7th Avenue, near the Candler Building, a repurposed migrant shelter, resulted in a 17-year-old being stabbed. The victim believed to be a migrant from Nicaragua, sustained injuries to the back during the altercation.
Eight individuals are still being pursued by law enforcement in connection with the attack. Among them are five males described as having a light complexion and three others described as having a medium complexion. Despite the ongoing manhunt, six individuals, including five teenagers, have already been apprehended concerning the stabbing.
NYPD Crime Stoppers released surveillance footage of the group involved in the gang assault, aiding in the identification and capture of some suspects. One adult, Michael Colome, 22, of Queens, has been charged so far in connection with the stabbing. Colome, along with three 16-year-olds and two 14-year-olds, faces charges including gang assault, assault, and weapons possession.

He was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court and is currently held on Rikers Island on a $100,000 bond. This incident echoes a recent attack on two NYPD officers by a gang of migrants in the same area earlier in the month. Seven out of the eleven migrants suspected in that attack have since been indicted. The NYPD continues its efforts to ensure the safety and security of all individuals within the community, particularly those residing in or around the Times Square area.
