The assailant, described as a male perpetrator, ambushed the unsuspecting victim from behind, slashing her neck as she descended the station steps.

The victim, a resident of the Upper West Side, was promptly rushed to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where medical personnel stabilized her condition. Meanwhile, the assailant fled the scene on foot, evading capture and leaving authorities grappling with yet another act of senseless violence.
