Terrifying Encounter in NYPD: Queens Man Followed Woman Off Subway, Punched, Tried to Rape Her!
CNS News– Police are looking for a guy who they say punched and tried to rape a woman as she left a Queens subway station last weekend. Authorities say the event took place just after midnight on February 24. Police say the woman, who was 20 years old, was getting off an F train in Jamaica at the 169th Street stop that was going to Queens.
The suspect followed her off the train and, once they got to the upper level of the station, punched her several times in the face while covering her face, threw her to the ground, and tried to take off her clothes. A security guard stepped in after hearing the woman yell.
Officials say that security cameras helped catch the people responsible for last week’s shooting on the Bronx D train. Both MTA workers and passengers are worried about crime in the NYC subways. After leaving the station, the man ran on foot toward 168 Place. The person was taken to a nearby hospital to get help.

The number of crimes in January 2024 was 45% lower than in January 2023, according to data from the NYPD. Most of the crimes were big thefts. The cops are also arresting more people who don’t pay their fare. In the past month, police have also found and recovered 17 guns, which is three times as many as they found last year. They have also arrested 250 people for other weapons, which is a 44% rise.
Eight people have been arrested for assaulting MTA workers so far this year. Four of those people have 50 or more arrests on their records. As a result, since February, NYC Mayor Eric Adams and NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban have sent more than 1,000 police officers to the train system every day.
