CNS NewsThree individuals are facing drug charges following a raid conducted by the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office at an illegal marijuana grow site in Skowhegan. The search warrant was executed at a residence on Waterville Road shortly before 10 a.m. on Friday. Law enforcement officials discovered a substantial illegal operation inside the home, uncovering a total of 4,760 marijuana plants with an estimated value exceeding $7,000.

The individuals arrested in connection with the illegal grow operation are identified as Yao Bin Cheng, aged 61, Ying Xia Liao, aged 59, and Xi Qiang Zhao, aged 56. All three individuals hail from Brooklyn, New York. Charges against the trio include drug trafficking and cultivation of marijuana. Currently, they are being held at the Somerset County Jail on bail set at $10,000 each.

Their initial court appearance is scheduled for June 5 at the Somerset County Unified Court.
